September 6 -- Well there hasn't been anything really out of the ordinary going on -- yet. It's been kind of a nice break in the activity to get caught up on things and get ready for more stuff that's coming. The biggest change is that Becky is heading out on Friday for tech school with the NM Air National Guard. She will be in school for over four months in Gulfport, MS at the Navy base. She's been busy with preparations and packing. The ladies in the church gave her a very nice handmade quilt today. So Stan and I will be living alone for the next few months. Well, Squirt, (AKA Purdy) will be here. She is Stan and Becky's pet dog and is about 14 years old.

After Stan and I got back from the CCI-SWR graduation last month, Stan got an e-mail inviting him to go to the CCI golf tournament in Phoenix, AZ later this month so he could speak and we could do the same demonstration we did at the golf tournament here back in July. Stan says we are going to go, so we'll have yet another trip coming up in a few weeks.

Stan seems to be entering another period where he is struggling more with being dizzy from his Meniere's disease. The latest medication that the Dr. gave him to try seems to be helping in controlling the episodes. There is also something in my behavior relating to this that Stan thinks is going on. It's a dog secret, so I'm not telling for sure, but Stan thinks I am able to tell when he is going to get dizzy before he starts actually feeling dizzy. I know that when Stan is dizzy, he likes to lay down. Almost always, I'll lay down right beside him or sometimes with my front legs stretched across his chest with my head laying between them. Stan just pets me while I take a nap until the dizzies are gone, or sometimes we both take a nap. Of course I really like that a lot, so Stan isn't sure if I'm just asking for snuggles or if I am able to detect when he is going to be dizzy. As I said it's a dog secret, so I'm not saying for sure one way or the other. Anyway, what I sometimes do is I'll lay my head on his lap and just leave it there or I will lay it next to where he is sitting so that the side of my face is touching his lap. Other times I will sit or lay so that part of my body is in contact with Stan's foot or leg. Stan isn't sure if I'm developing some new kind of skill and alert, or just asking for snuggles.
